Story of “SKIT: Expectation”
“Skit: Expectation” was written by all members of BTS with Pdogg and “Hitman” Bang as its producers. Like its title, this track is not a song. It’s a BTS skit which means it contains a regular conversation between the seven members of BTS. No wonder all the BTS members wrote this track because they wrote the lyrics for the skit while having a normal conversation between the members. Skits are common in hip hop music. If we look at this skit, we can feel close to the members. They even help us know what feelings and thoughts the members had while also making jokes, too. They even talked about their daily life and their privacy. This skit is very meaningful for ARMY (BTS’ fanbase) because listening to this skit is just like listening to their candid conversations. In “Skit: Expectation,” the members revealed their doubts specifically of the EP album. They said they did not expect anything from their album, but they had to keep hoping for the best. Suga said he was scared of expecting something from this album and not getting anything. J-Hope wasn’t expecting much from “No More Dream” and “N.O,” but he was still being hopeful. He also didn’t expect anything for “Boy in Luv,” but for “Danger”, he had a lot of expectations. In addition, the leader RM thought that at that time the EP album would totally fail. The youngest member Jungkook explained something about tax deductions. He also revealed that since that day, he wouldn’t get any allowances from his parents anymore. In my personal opinion, this skit is quite funny. It is definitely funny because they somehow talked about anything that popped into their minds. The funnier thing is, this candid conversation was recorded, put into their album, and listened to by a lot of ARMY. This skit gives us a close feeling to the members. One word for “Skit: Expectation:” Brilliant! So, that’s all about “Skit: Expectation” from BTS. “Skit: Expectation” has no music video or live performance. This track also hasn’t charted on known song charts in the K-pop industry.
